Each way
Two bets of the same stake in one: a win bet and a place bet. If your pick only places, the place part still pays, at a fraction of the odds.
Also called E/W
Example $5 each way at 10/1 = $10. It finishes third, place terms 1/4 odds: the place part returns $17.50, the win part loses.
- Good to know
- The number of paid places and the fraction (often 1/4 or 1/5) depend on the race and the number of runners. Bookmakers sometimes pay extra places as a promotion.
- Watch out
- Your total stake is double the amount you type in.
