Rule 4
A deduction from winnings in horse racing when a runner is withdrawn after you took your price, because the field got weaker.
Also called Rule 4 deduction
Example A short-priced favourite pulls out late: winnings on the rest are cut, by up to 75p in every pound.
- Good to know
- The size of the deduction depends on the price of the withdrawn horse. Bets struck at the starting price are not affected.
